Special Delivery!

So testing is always fun. Especially when you've finished unspoiler-i-fying Open Beta 3 and do a little test run of the first couple maps and wait- frickin' I forgot to tag the doorframe 'lower unpegged' again!

Still, I feel it's playable as a beta.

Behold! Fifteen days after my self-imposed deadline, I give you... Open Beta 3!

Two Weeks Past Deadline


Currently I've finished most of the sprites, redid half the Twilicane sprites, fixed the titlecards, added a few more things to the changeling pack wad (for using just the changeling and weapon sprites with any IWAD), and I've converted rarimusic.wad to a .pk3 to try and save space for the download. Especially since I'm going to nearly triple it in size.

Turns out choosing music is harder than I thought. So it might all change by the time the game is actually released. Just remember if you have a favorite, you can type in idmus and then the level name and it'll play that song.

But now I have an estimated release date of... tomorrow.

Did I Say That?

So a girl in my ward called me asking if I could come pick her and her friend up because her car got a hole in the oil pan. Sure, I said.

Turns out she's an hour and a half away.

Oops.

I mean... I'm always willing to help. But release might be delayed until tomorrow (I'm still finishing one interpic and then I'm going to try and delete all spoilers from the open beta 3 wad, and then I have to fix rarimusic.wad. It hasn't been updated since April... of last year).

On the bright side... I made some changes to the final E3 map and I don't know if it's easy to beat or not, mainly because of the monsters I didn't put in. But I'll let you decide.
Like, seriously. I really enjoy the feedback on the maps. Too easy, too hard, too silly?

Day Nine Past Deadline

So I've been doing a little finishing and a little clean-up in the .wad and I discovered that I hadn't finished naming the maps. So I had to open each one and think about it. Some of them I hadn't opened since I put it on the F drive instead of my G drive... many, many months ago.

Oops.

On an unrelated side note, I don't think I have added any music recently (ie, in the past year or so), so I might just recycle songs.

But fear not! I promised Open Beta 3, and I shall deliver! Soon. Maybe by Saturday.

It's funny. I've always wanted to make a comic; but I have such trouble finishing even the in-between episode pictures. Idk.

Live!Update

Ok, I've finished the sprites for the last monster I'm putting in. Even the death animations which I totally didn't forget the first time. I think they're ok but they look the tiniest bit off to me; but I'm going to blame that on the color palette than anything else. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I did a little playtesting and a couple maps might need a couple tweaks for balance. Then I'll have to modify my current wad so I don't give away any spoilers or bad coding or anything like that.

And then!

Then Open Beta 3 shall be released!

Also I should probably change that titlecard while I'm at it because it still says open beta 2.

Gah.

I'm cheating on the sprites. Don't tell anypony.
