RariDoom v .8.1

Hotfixes! Get your hotfixes here.

The broken door in E4M7 was literally fixed with two clicks and one keypress, but it bugged me enough that once I fixed it, I went through the maps once more, just to check things out. I put the music in E2M8, found another bunch of door tracks either missing the track texture or missing the 'lower unpegged' flag (sighs in E3M2... sighs harder in E3M3... shakes head in despair at E3M8), added a few more decorations, and expanded E2M7, just for fun. Don't think anything changed enough to give it a higher version number, but it definitely feels like an improvement to me.

If you'd like a slightly different take on this game, check out Custom Edition! There are new sounds and new attacks from the changelings, the weapons actually look like magic spells, there are light effects, and a brutal final boss battle. It's a ton of fun.   1. Very nice. I can't get enough of this game, always coming back to play it. It's basically the only DOOM mod I play at this point. Completed Nightmare Mode, but I'm still addicted, so I load up fresh new maps to play on with commands since the maps in RariDoom are named E#M# instead of Map #, allowing me to use a wide variety of megawads with the RariDoom gameplay and enemies. This is such a perfect mod. Outstanding work!

    I just added the hotfixed RariDoom to my Custom Edition download file.

    However, the link you put there for Custom Edition is likely broken now; sorry. But don't worry; you can still download it from the links on my Youtube Videos.

  3. Hey, same anon again. I'm making my own pony game now (Not on DOOM engine though) and it's all working out nice, so I decided to post to say RariDoom is 100% my inspiration for deciding to make my own pony game. I'd love to include references of some kind to show appreciation, but wanted to ask first just to confirm it with you. Would it be all good if when I finish the game, I added some out of the way references to RariDoom somewhere? Maybe a similiar looking map to one of yours or something? Not entirely sure yet, but just wanted to know if that's cool with you. Thanks.

  4. could it be possible to make the final level with Crysilis not be raining and such? it's kind of a framerate killer for me. like it slows the gameplay down to where it's a tad hard to play. i'm planning on hopefully streaming the 4th episode, but with how the final level is, it's gonna more than likely make things hard to play on stream, and thus possibly crashing my stream to

YAY!! much better honestly. i recently did a stream of the episode over on my Twitch. didn't know when episode 4 dropped at the time, but i was lucky to discover it was made a thing. i did the E4M8 level as a normal video. despite the slowdowns i had with the rain and such, and i showed off the ending to. and i even recorded the secret level. didn't know where the secret level exit was. so i warped to it

  5. Uh, I have no idea how to reach secret sector #45 at E2M8, and, more important, how to get onto the rope in E3M6? (Also secret exit there is unreachable for the same reason.) Somehow I expect something like crouch-jump needed there, but still I'm unable to do it in GZDoom (4.1.3).

    Also, on E1M1, some sprites appear as exclamation marks. It can be fixed if you remove "Game Doom" option in DECORATE for several Root objects (IIRC, third DECORATE lump in your WAD). After all, you're using these sprites in Chex Quest 3, not Doom.

    And a couple of problems that may lead to impossible UV-max runs:
    E1M8: There are two changelings that drop armor bonus in sectors #7 and #8; it makes reaching 100% items or 100% kills on this level impossible, since you have no way to visit both of these sectors.
    E3M8: There are changelings dropping armor bonuses in sectors near exit (on the shores of a river); but these bonuses can't be picked up due to linedefs between river and shores are impassable.
    Both of these problems probably may be solved by setting armor bonuses (-COUNTITEM) not affecting items count at all.
